Grain-free "Green 'n Brownies"

I don't know about you, but I have yet to meet someone who doesn't love brownies. I mean, come on now. Brownies are like chocolate cake by gooeyer and fudgier and just all around better. And you don't have to save them for special occasions! Except that traditional brownies are a health nut's NIGHTMARE: packed with hydrogenated oils, butter, sugar, and, in some packaged varieties I've come across...FOOD DYES! Yuck yuck and yuck.

These "Grain-free Green 'n Brownies" are the perfect alternative to unhealthy brownies! With nutrient-dense ingredients like bananas, raw cacao, coconut flour, almond meal, and coconut oil, these flourless superfood squares have a secret ingredient that packs over 40 different veggies into one pan! Grain-free "Green 'n Brownies"

1. 3 large, spotty bananas

2. 2 scoops Garden of Life Chocolate Flavor Perfect Food Super Greens Powder

3. 1tsp baking powder

4. 3 T Bob’s Red Mill Organic Coconut Flour*

5. 2 T Bob’s Red Mill Organic Ground Golden Flaxseed*

6. 1/2 cup almond meal (almond flour)

7. 1/4 cup Navitas Naturals Raw Cacao Powder*

8. 1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract

9. 1 T Buttery Flavored Coconut Oil, melted

10. Coconut oil spray


1. Preheat oven to 250 degrees Fahrenheit and spray an 8x8 baking pan with coconut oil spray.

2. Place bananas in a high-speed blender and puree until smooth.

3. Combine baking powder, flaxseed, almond meal, Perfect Food Greens, cacao, and coconut flour in a large mixing bowl and stir well to thoroughly combine ingredients.

4. Pour “banana batter” into dry ingredients mixture and stir well. Add vanilla extract and melted coconut oil and stir again. Mix very well by hand, until batter is smooth and no clumps remain (about 1-2 minutes).

5. Pour batter into prepared pan and spread evenly. Bake uncovered for 35 minutes. Remove from oven and allow to cool completely before slicing.

Top with “Banana Nice Cream."
